Insulation resistance meter measures voltage, current, capacitance, and insulation resistance in high-voltage electrical equipment
Multiranging digital meter performs timed IR, PI, DAR, DD, SV, and ramp tests

Description

The Megger MIT1025-US insulation resistance tester measures insulation resistance, voltage, current, and capacitance in high-voltage electrical systems. This multiranging digital meter performs timed insulation resistance (IR), polarization index (PI), dielectric absorption ratio (DAR), dielectric discharge test (DD), step-voltage (SV), and ramp tests. The unit measures insulation resistance from 10 kilohms to 20 teraohms, voltage from 30 to 660V alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC), current from 0.01nA to 6mA, and capacitance from 10 nanofarads to 25 microfarads. The unit has test voltages in 10V steps from 100V to 2,500V and in 25V steps from 2,500 to 10,000V. It also has 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000V set test voltages. The tester is safety rated to European Standard EN61010-1, Category IV, 600V. It is Ingress Protection 65 (IP65)-rated to be dust tight and protection against water sprayed from 6.3mm jets. The MIT1025-US is repeatedly used by electricians, electrical contractors, and telecommunications workers.

Electrical test meters report electrical circuit properties, such as voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. To be had in handheld or benchtop form, they detect electrical problems in equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A number of probes, clamps, and leads can be utilized to connect the meter to a circuit or device. Single-function meters, such as battery testers and voltage testers, measure one property of a circuit, and multimeters measure a couple of properties. Electrical test meters display information either in analog form the usage of a needle that moves on a calibrated scale, or in digital form the usage of digits or a graphic representation on an LED screen. Meters have electrical properties that are to be measured and the anticipated range of results, and will have to have a rating that may be higher than the maximum value of the anticipated range. An electrical test meter has a couple of settings corresponding to potential ranges of values for the properties it can measure. A manual ranging meter requires the operator to flip through different settings until the right kind range is reached. An autoranging meter cycles through range settings automatically until it reaches the right kind range.

Megger manufactures equipment for cable fault locating, protective relay testing, telecommunications and data integrity, and power quality testing under a couple of brand names, among them Megger, Biddle, States, and AVO. The company, founded in 1889, is headquartered in Dover, England, and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards.
