Moving Straw at Glen Helen for the track build reminds me of the good old days of bucking hay at Los Alamitos (going to call Kendall and Hayes to come help too)

Spent some time at Los Al, my pops and great uncle and uncle worked the dirt at Los Al, Hollywood and santa Anita for years, they were friends with Scoop. Stoked to hear you were working their in the day. Good times! I was a labor at Santa Anita for a while before I chased surfing dreams. @robbygordon

Reminds me of the night Kristi asked you @robbygordon what those hooks were for and you tried grabbing ahold of Inga with them. ????

The owner of the hardware store by my house in Grass Lake, Michigan saw my prerunner and asked if I knew who Robby Gordon was. He went on to tell me a couple stories about you and several other nascar guys staying at his parents bed and breakfast when you’d come to MIS. It was pretty cool and shows what a small world it is

It’s easy to remember and miss a good man like your pops and good times you had with him!!! I’m so glad I got to spend some time with him.

@robbygordon Imperial Valley born and lived there my whole life. I’ve moved hay a lot. I’ve almost gotten a hay hook stuck in my leg when it slipped out of the bale. Raced circle track here also till they chopped the track from 3/8 mile to 1/8 mile.

Those boom operators were amazing! That was an art. I loved chucking bails down and landing them almost dead on to where Pedro only had give them a small nudge into place. He was mad if he had to put his hooks in it. I can’t stop smiling thinking about those days!!!????

You delivered hay to my parents house in OPA many times. You would grab a bale with the hooks, sling it on your back, and stack 25. Tough as nails.
